The alarm can be configured in one of two ways: |

| Sending a signal via a simple telephone call, the recipient's mobile phone can be pre-programmed with the number of the phone making the call so that caller id identifies that it is the alarm system calling. |  |
| Sending a signal using SMS (Short Message Service). Sending the signal via SMS grants the added functionality of detailing exactly which sensor has been tripped, for example: front driver's side door on a car, or the back door of a house. |
